JobShield operates the "Is This Job a Scam?" service. For the personal data described in this notice, JobShield is the data controller — we decide how and why your data is processed.

• Account data — your email address and login credentials when you sign up or sign in (including via Google).
• Content you submit — the job listings you paste in and the analysis reports saved to your account.
• Usage data — how many checks you've run, your plan, and basic technical data such as IP address and device/browser information used for security and troubleshooting.

Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are collected and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record — we never see or store your card details.

• Providing the service (contract performance) — creating your account, running analyses, saving your reports, and enforcing plan allowances.
• Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests) — protecting accounts and the service from abuse.
• Product improvement (legitimate interests) — understanding how the service is used so we can improve it.
• Legal obligations — keeping records where the law requires it.

• Service providers — hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure that runs the service.
• AI processing — the listing text you submit is sent to an AI model provider solely to produce your analysis.
• Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, managing subscriptions, processing payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

We keep your data while your account is active. Saved reports stay until you delete them or close your account. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You can delete saved reports yourself in the app. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within one month. If you're in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data.

The service uses essential cookies and local storage only — to keep you signed in and remember your free check. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
